The 1st Sanuk Sandcastle Challenge

The 1st Sanuk Sandcastle Challenge was held at R.O.X in Bonifacio High Street last May 16, 2009. It was a sandcastle making contest in the city brought to us by SANUK.

Each team were composed of 4 to 6 members, and were provided a 4sqm area to work on. Each team were provided with approximately 8 cubic meters of sand, with which the castles will be made. Shovels and other stuffs were also provided. All finished sandcastles has SANUK logo.

Sandcastles were judge according to Architecture (30%), Creativity (25%), Sanük logo execution (25%), and Overall impact (20%). P30, 000 in cash and gift certificates were awarded to the TEAM MAGBAYO for having the best sandcastle.

There were some celebrities spotted during the said events such as Bobby Andrews, Paolo and Suzie Abrera with their kids. Reggae band, Buko Juice played music ala Bob Marley which brought the refreshing beach ambiance to the city.

ENSEMBLES by Debbie Co Collection

Last May 15, 2009 I witnessed the preview of Emsembles by Debbie Co Collection which was held at Glorrieta 5, The Row.

Prior to the fashion show there was a photo opportunity for VIP guests, press and bloggers. The adorable Richard Herrera from ETC was the host of the night. VIP guests, bloggers and press had the opportunity to purchase some of their favorite pieces from the collection right there and then with a VIP discount.

In addition, Media people got the chance to have an interview with the Ensembles’ charismatically funny image model, actress Carmina Villaroel. Delectable and yummy snacks were also served to the guests while mingling with each other.

Debbie Co, who took Industrial Engineering with a minor in Chemical Engineering at De La Salle University, is now the brain behind the success of Ensembles Collection. She got the inspiration from 1960’s mod era, Victorian period - think Queen Elizabeth and the Japanese culture - origami and vivid colors.

I must say that the Debbie Co Collection is so fabulous, modern and yet classic, very feminine that would look perfectly to most career women of our generation.

The 1st Sanuk SandCastle Competition

I'm invited again to join this Sanuk Sandcastle Competition which will be held at R.O.X. Bonifacio High Street on May 9, 2009, 3pm.

Four teams of at least six members will compete in a one-of-its-kind competition set to showcase the most creative minds in sand craftsmanship in the metropolis. Can you imagine, sandcastle competition in the Metro? How exciting!

Oh well, I'm excited and I will encourage hubby to join the said event or at least to watch.
